Overview: The most distinctive feature of this gutsy terrier is his curly, woolly coat. He is sometimes described as having the head of a lamb and the heart of a lion. This is a dog that was bred to quickly kill not only rats, but also badgers, otters and foxes.
Character: This dog is playful, loving with children, and intelligent. It does not bark very often.
Temperament: This breed gets along well with children. If socialized early with other household pets, there should be no problems. Males are fierce fighters, if challenged.
Care: Regular grooming with a brush and comb are required, as well as a visit to a professional groomer at least once a year.
Training: The Bedlington Terrier can be a bit stubborn at times. While it does learn quickly, it is sometimes necessary for its trainer to be a bit stern.
Activity: This dog loves to run fast and jump high. It should be given opportunities to do so as often as possible.
