I do think that abortion is wrong and that women who face such a decision
do so with a heavy heart and much suffering. No one does this lightly.

That said, I believe it is rather naive to think that simply outlawing abortion will
lead to an end of the practice. Safe, legal abortion will save lives since it is
well known that self-performed abortions have killed many women and children
over the course of humanity.

It is also naive to think that bad environmental policy and corporate
crime are victimless. Many people die around the world due to the clear-cutting of
forests, pollution, etc. Clear-cut forests lead to land slides where many
people lose their homes resulting in the loss of both human habitat and the species
that support human life. Corporate pollution has been
blamed for many mortal diseases, including several types of cancer.

Ideally, a world where we have healthy humans who understand their
bodies and how they function and who understand what sex is and how
babies are brought to life would be nice. A world where young women
don't need to make the choice of abortion or adoption, but rather where
they can choose motherhood would be great. A world where all of our land
air and water is clean and managed consciously for sustainability rather
than for profit would be terrific.

This is why I think voting with Green Party is the best use of
ones political power. Healthy human life and the health of our planet
are the pillars of the Green Party philosophy and should be considered
by anyone who cares about our one world and one family of people.

Incidentally, I'd be interested to hear your stand on in-vitro
fertilization. It would seem many pro-life people have had in-vitro
procedures. I am unclear how a fertilzed egg is a human for a young
girl who was raped, but 7 or 8 fertized eggs, most of which will be
aborted if not all, is OK somehow to the pro-life group who are infertile
and need to bring their own biological kids into our society rather
than adopt. This is a huge flaw in the pro-life argument which
should also take a stand against in-vitro fertilization for the same
reason they are against abortion in all cases, even incest and rape.
