0 points - I let others do what they please, its not my place to tell them how to live. 5 points - I refuse to say anything to the individual who trashes a recyclable, but I'll judge them harshly. 25 points - If I see someone throwing a recyclable into the trash I look at them with a sharp look of distain.
50 points - I don't like to tell people what to do, but if I notice someone tossing out a recyclable I'll mention it. 75 points - I encourage only close friends to recycle. 100 points - I've encouraged many people to recycle.

Summary: Everyone has been educated in one way or another about the benefits of recycling, but many people still don't do it. It just might take a little bit of peer pressure from a friend to encourage them to think about sorting out their recyclables.
